In collaboration with master musician David Power, Paula Meehan will premiere an intimate performance of her brand new collection of poems For the Hungry Ghosts - elegies, poems of mourning and signposts to recovery and survival, drawing on the live resonance of the uilleann pipes to channel volcanic emotion and to ritualise and assuage grief. |

The Music Network RESONATE music residency was established to enable musicians to devote time to the creation of new work and to facilitate new creative partnerships. And so, David, Marja and John have spent time researching a range of pieces of music from the Irish folk tradition, the baroque folk tradition and the flamenco folk tradition to be worked on and developed so that they make sense for uilleann pipes, violin and guitar. They are looking forward to test-driving their new material with a live audience! |

John Walsh, Ireland’s leading Flamenco guitarist, joins uilleann piper David Power and Marja Gaynor on baroque violin for a unique collaboration in the spectacular setting of Future Forests in deepest West Cork. They perform a programme featuring their own arrangements of traditional Irish tunes, contemporary music as well as music from the Baroque period and the 19th century.
